Own the whole line
The same people design the schema, write the mobile app, configure the server and answer the support email. It is the only arrangement we have found where nobody can describe a problem as somebody else's layer.
About us
Bluedot Digital Services Ltd builds and operates its own software. We are registered in England and Wales, based on the Isle of Wight, and we have three products live in production. We do not take client projects — everything we ship carries our own name and our own support burden.
How we got here
None of our products began with a market analysis. They began with watching somebody — often one of us — do something tedious by hand and deciding it should not be a manual job.
itsTime came from the reality of tracking staff attendance across several sites, where the honest choice was between buying a biometric terminal for every location or accepting that the timesheets were fiction. Since every member of staff already carries a phone with a camera and an NFC radio, the hardware turned out to be optional.
Pinnyway came from the gap between taking a trip and having any usable record of it. Journalling a journey by hand means doing the trip twice. Recording the route automatically means the only creative decision left is which moments are worth pinning.
Building three products this way taught us the thing that now shapes the company. The interesting part is rarely the idea; it is being willing to operate the result for years afterwards.
What we believe
The same people design the schema, write the mobile app, configure the server and answer the support email. It is the only arrangement we have found where nobody can describe a problem as somebody else's layer.
We spend our novelty budget carefully. Our products share common foundations and a single way of being built and released, which is what makes a team this size able to run any of it.
itsTime tells you a scan needs a connection. We would rather set an accurate expectation than win a signup and lose the trust.
Between continuous location, workplace attendance and third-party credentials, our products ask for a lot. Every one of those asks is opt-in, explained in place, and revocable by the person who granted it.
Team
We are a small team, which means everyone here works directly on the products and everyone hears from the people using them.
CEO & CTO
Sets product direction across all three products and leads the engineering behind them — from the architecture and the code through to the infrastructure they run on.
Design & Testing
Designs the interfaces people actually use and tests what we build before it ships, across the web apps and the mobile apps alike.
Sales
Takes our products to the businesses and customers who need them, and brings back what the market is asking for.
Company details
We publish these because a company that expects you to hand over attendance records, location history or account credentials should be easy to identify.
Our products
We are open to partnerships, distribution conversations, and technical questions about anything described on this site.
