Software product company
Bluedot is a small engineering team that ships vertical SaaS. We own three products end to end — the product decisions, the code, the mobile apps, the deployment pipeline, and the servers they run on. No client work, no hand-off, no someone-else's-problem.
Our products
Each one started with a job we watched somebody do badly by hand. All three are live, and you can go and look at them right now.
Time and attendance for businesses with staff across multiple sites. Employees clock in by scanning a printed QR poster or tapping an NFC point with the phone already in their pocket — so there are no terminals to buy, install or maintain.
A travel platform where your route logs itself. The mobile app records your track in the background, and the web app turns those real coordinates into a timeline of pins you can share — and a map of everywhere you have been.
How we work
We are deliberately small. That only works because we reuse hard-won structure across every product instead of rebuilding it each time.
Our products are built on common in-house foundations rather than started from scratch each time. It is the main reason a team our size can support three of them properly.
Changes are proven in separate internal environments before they reach anyone's live account, and going live is always a deliberate decision rather than an automatic consequence of a code change.
The people who write the code configure the servers, hold the secrets and get the alert when something breaks. It keeps us honest about complexity we would otherwise be happy to add.
Infrastructure
Every product we operate, and every environment behind it, is hosted on Amazon Web Services. We run that infrastructure ourselves rather than outsourcing it, and AWS gives us somewhere to grow into as each product scales.
How we build and operateOur applications, their data and their supporting services all sit inside AWS, rather than being spread across providers we would then have to reason about separately.
Internal and live environments are kept properly apart, with their own resources and their own credentials. Test activity cannot reach customer data.
As each product grows we move further onto managed AWS services, so capacity, backups and resilience become configuration rather than work we do by hand.

Bluedot Digital Services Ltd is registered in England and Wales and based on the Isle of Wight. We fund product development ourselves and we are not an agency — the software on this site is our own.
