Privacy policy
The iOS app and its Garmin watch companion for switching a caravan's lights. Effective 2 August 2026.
Caravan Lights collects no personal data. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app talks to two things only: your caravan's control module over Bluetooth, and — if you choose to use one — your Garmin watch. Nothing the app knows is ever sent to us. We operate no server for this app.
Caravan Lights connects directly to the Bluetooth control module built into your caravan and switches its lights. Optionally, a companion app on a Garmin watch acts as a remote control, with messages relayed through your phone. All of this happens between devices you own, in Bluetooth range of each other.
A small amount of configuration is stored on your phone and nowhere else: which caravan module the app is bound to, which Garmin watch you chose, and the light groups and brightness preferences you set up. The app also keeps local diagnostic logs of its own activity to make problems debuggable. None of this leaves your phone unless you yourself choose to share it — for example by sending us a log when asking for help. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Bluetooth. It is the app: without it there is no way to reach the caravan. It is used solely to find and communicate with your caravan's control module. The app requests no access to your location, camera, photos, contacts, microphone or anything else.
Messages between the watch app and the phone app are routed by Garmin Connect Mobile, Garmin's own app, which you install and pair separately. That app is provided by Garmin and governed by Garmin's privacy policy. Caravan Lights exchanges only light names and on/off states with the watch, and we receive nothing from either side.
The app embeds Garmin's Connect IQ SDK for the sole purpose of exchanging messages with your watch via the Garmin Connect app on the same phone. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and makes no network connections to Bluedot or anyone else on its own behalf.
The app collects no data from anyone, which includes children. It is a light switch.
If the app ever changes in a way that affects any of the above, this page will be updated and the effective date at the top revised before that version ships.
